How many hours of content in 1080p, from disc, cable, telephone (20Mbps DSL) and Internet will it take before you buy a 1080p set?

So I would like to vote, but the page comes up with a report, but no way to vote.

The vote is at the top of the page. You will have to be registered and logged in so we can track who's voted already.

Thanks,

How about none of the above? I vote not until the dust settles on the format "war"!

VHS overcame superior media delivery simply because they had no objection to X rated material on VHS
(yes there were other items in play as well, but this was a major factor $)

The multiple choice questions didn't have enough answers. It makes the assumption I'd purchase 1080P if there were more programming which is highly unlikely. Due to being built in, or having to fit an entertainment center we are limited to size. Even were that not the case I see little reason to go from 1080i to 1080p in our viewing situation. I have never purchased, rented, or downloaded video of 1080p equivalent. Actually I have never purchased, rented, downloaded or even used pay per view in all the years we've had it available.

We have a very nice 3 year old Sony 60" LCD 1080i. I connect source players directly to the monitor via HDMI/component without processor video switching.

If I needed a new monitor now, I'd go 1080p.

Otherwise, for me, there's not enough live media, daily content programming or other offerings to justify an update now.

Likewise, when it becomes time to replace the 40" 1080i then it'll be a "p", but there is no real reason for us with a 40" set to move up otherwise.

I hope you guys realize this survey is 3 years old.

If the topic is relevant and interesting, it's going to strike a chord. People are becoming more aware of these options probably because of the DTV transition, as well as low prices on some of these items (due to economic stresses)

As I am happy with the 3 year old 1080i set I have now, I'll get a 1080p when it needs replacing.
