Here's my situation. I have an Onkyo SR605 receiver (which has only one HDMI out). I just bought a set of Sony MDR-DS600 wireless headphones that have an optical in. Right now my HDMI out goes right to the TV. The headphone processor (charging cradle that emits 2.4 Ghz signal to headphones) also has analog (RCA) inputs, but I think the digital would sound better. Since I don't have an optical out in my receiver, what are my options? My TV has an unused optical out jack, but it is really serving as just a monitor now. Should I get a hdmi splitter/switch that has an optical out jack? Thanks for any help!

KIS - keep it simple. If you can use RCA then go for it and enjoy.
Hi Patrick,
I have the same unit. I pondered this for a long time myself. Just use the digital out from your source, (Sat Box, DVD player, etc) and plug into the MDR-DS600. If you need to pass on the optical signal to your receiver there is a out port on your MDR-DS600, plug that into your receiver. If your amp has the HDMI set to Amp + TV you can plug into the TV optical output. With the digital you can get the benifits of simulated surround sound.
