I have a hd-dvr..i had recorded a concert in hd on the dvr and then made a dvd copy on my sony dvd recorder via the composite outputs on the dvr to the same on the dvd recorder..before i deleted the content on the dvr i recorded it on a d-vhs tape ..today i tried to make another dvd from the d-vhs tape and it says cant record signal..ive got all the connections right..can any one tell me why?..just curious..and im not distributing these copies ..just making one or 2 for family member..if its a copy guard why did it allow me to do it from the dvr but not from the d-vhs tape?..and then again why could i make the d-vhs tape?..or is it some different format issue?..thanks

I don't think the JVC DVHS downconverts HD content to composite or S-Video. It remains in component at minimum...
Would have to check mine to be sure but this does sound familiar...
