Panasonic DMR-HS2 DVR - how to recovery erased programs?

Hi, I have a Panasonic DMR-HS2 DVR and a friend just erased all my recorded programs :cry:

. Does anyone know of a way to recover them other then paying a Data Recovery service $300-$1000 to attempt to recover them?
