I got to the point I couldn't even listen to the DB's again. burn out. Then I purchased The Captain and Me in DVD-A. Amazing defintion, seperation, and talent. WOW! this rates up there with the Night Fly by Donald Fagen for sound reproduction quality. great experience. How a 30 year old session on tape held up that good baffles.

You never really heard this recording until the DVD Audio came along - spectacular at 24/192! I am not a big DB fan at all but from the first song onward this DVD Audio makes you wanna listen.

This also brings up the finer point audiophiles and musicians have been stating for years... A bad mix or a bad recording or bad reproduction can make something wonderful just stink to high heaven!

Thanks for letting us know about the Dvd. I'm always looking for good quality rock. Is this a new Dvd? The Dvd does not show up in the link to buy. Amazon shows others selling it for starting at $64.00. Any ideas on where to purchase?

Thanks in advance,
Charles

Wow, looks like John and I have a collectors item!

Chuck, in case you did not know, DVD Audio and SACD have little support these days. Appears this title had strong sales and I doubt there will be a new pressing so it looks like you will be paying a premium to acquire this.
