Wow. If this isn't an example of the total decadence of the uber-rich, I don't know what is.

The rich are becoming obscenely rich, and the middle class are losing their jobs and their homes. I guess the poor can just shoot themselves. Is this a great country, or what? Thank God the millionaires will get to keep their tax breaks for another 2 years... that's a relief. This will help solve the problem of what to spend it on. Life is rough at the top.

Sorry, but his sickens me. Obviously very few here in the US have studied history, or can see the signs of what's coming.

I can see your perspective, but there was a time when only the "uber-rich" could afford gold jewelry, or even salt. There was a time when only the rich could afford refrigeration, or a car, or any number of other things.

New technologies almost always start out as high-priced items that soak the rich to pay for the development costs. Eventually, if they catch on, the prices can come down within reach of the average consumer. Hey, a 42-inch HDTV cost $15,000 not so many years ago, and now costs less than $500.

So I may be a little slower to condemn the rich. I know that I've benefited from early adopters who could afford things that I could not, but as a result, I can afford them now.
