If you’re a Hulu fan, you have probably noticed the conspicuous absence of any current CBS shows. It’s not too surprising, given that the owners of major rivals ABC (Walt Disney Co.), NBC (Comcast), and FOX (News Corp.) are Hulu’s owners. Now comes word that CBS has signed a deal with Amazon to offer about [...]
Amazon streaming sucks on GoogleTV. Using Amazon is really like viewing from the internet and you have to keep keyboard handy because the screen goes to "sleep mode" usually at an important scene.
Netflix is a REAL app and function like a movie player. Until Amazon gets an official APP stick with Netflix....
"Sleep mode" is a configuration issue with your box, not with the Amazon service. If you want to see a barely functional app, try the Vizio Netflix app: it has no search capability (they claim they will be adding one "real soon now") and it limits you to choosing from whatever is in your Instant Queue. On the other hand, the AppleTV Netflix app has one of the most functional and easy to use Netflix interfaces I've used; but I suspect it will be a long time; i.e., never, before Amazon is on AppleTV. Over time these user interfaces should get better if their makers don't abandon them or go broke but, hey, life on the bleeding edge...
I have to disagree. Vizio Netflix Widget is very good as it supports more search and suggestions and genre as well. I also have Amazon, which I use and speed is just fine. I did upgraded to the 30M option, since you never get 15M with standard if you live in an apt with 20-30 people. I wish the Vizio widget would allow full screen for scrolling. I am happy to hear CBS has picked Amazon.

Can you tell what version of the Widget you have? Which Vizio set are you using? As I said, my set, which is a few days old, does not have a Netflix search function and choice is limited to the Netflix Instant Queue.
