MGM and Comcast Bring Consumers More High-Def Movies Through MGM HD

MGM HD, the high definition movie channel from Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer, today announced it has signed an affiliate agreement with Comcast Corporation, the nation's leading provider of entertainment, information and communications. This new agreement between MGM and Comcast will provide Comcast the ability to distribute the network to its high-definition (HD) customers with hundreds of HD movies from MGM's expansive library.

Sadly, these Comcast announcements are ludicrous. Most Comcast subscribers will never get this channel, just as most do not have CNN-HD, SCI-FI-HD, HGTV-HD, etc. etc. etc. Comcast offers the least amount of HD channels of ANY service. Here in NJ at least, that apparently is not going to change in the forseeable future.

I guess they will include this in their "Over 200 OFFERINGS of HD" each month. What most common consumers don't realize is that this is not "200 channels". This is another reason why I dumped Comcast 18 months ago and went to satellite.
