EchoStar Communications Corporation (Nasdaq:DISH) and its DISH Network(tm) satellite TV service today announced exciting enhancements to its industry-leading DishHD programming package.

On July 11, DISH Network will launch eight Regional Sports Networks (RSNs) in high definition (HD) that feature game-only baseball content, including Fox Sports Network Arizona (Ch. 365), Fox Sports Network Northwest (Ch. 376), Fox Sports Network Cincinnati (Ch. 377), Fox Sports Network Pittsburgh (Ch. 378), Fox Sports Network Detroit (Ch. 380), SportsTime Ohio (Ch. 381), Fox Sports Network North (Ch. 386), and SportsNet New York (DISH Network Ch. 388). With the launch of nine HD RSNs earlier this year, these new additions bring DISH Network's total lineup of HD RSNs to 17, with more channel launches planned for Aug. 15.

Just one little misleading statement in all this good news for us DishNet subscribers. Adding all those regional sports networks is all well and good but it probably should say that Only One Regional Sports Network is available to any given subscriber. Their statement makes it sound like you'd get 'em all if you just subscribed to their big package.

If I'm wrong about that, please plug us in, DishNet.......

Do we know which sat will broadcast the new national feeds? If it is 129 then we in the northwest are not going to get stable feeds. I am keeping my fingers crossed. I am about to dump Starz and Cinemax as they cut out so much just like many of the Zoom feeds. Since I went from the 18" to 24" dish for 129 I have fewer interuptions but when the do fade out my 622 locks up and I have to go thru the shutdown reload procedure. By then I have missed too much of the show to enjoy it.

jerfilm - you kind of got it right, but not entirely. The RSN's are provided on the basis of geography, not a limit of one channel per subscriber. Where I live, for example, we receive both Fox Rocky Mountain and Altitude in HD.

milehighmike - that's interesting. Are you in Denver?? We're in Estes Park and only get the Rocky Mountain RSN. In fact, never heard of Altitude.......

Be glad you're not in Alaska. Up here, all we get is 9 HD channels total from Dish.

jerfilm - I'm in Highlands Ranch. Altitude carries the Nuggets and Avs. The HD on Altitude is game-only coverage, so there's nothing right now, but come the fall........ :D .

61.5 carries the same programming, it requires a second dish, but is a stronger feed in many places.
