I suppose the greatest compliment I can give an actor is to say Jamie Fox who? That was Ray Charles on the screen and the Oscar is fully deserved. Wow...
The DVD is provided in two versions, the theatrical and extended versions. We chose extended and if you want even more of the story it is highly recommended. I was actually surprised these scenes were pulled but at 2.5 hours I suppose something had to go for the theater. I can

Ditto on everything you said about this one Richard. Never once did I think how good Jamie Fox was, I just kept thinking how cool Ray Charles was. You're right about the extended version too, it was very poorly done technically. I ended up turning it off and leaving it off, a shame because I really like most extended version movies I've seen.
