This is a slightly misleading announcement. The Playstation 3 is designed to work with the USB standard and should work with all USB devices as is. For example, I have the first model of iPod Apple sold and it works perfectly with my PS3 giving me access to music and voice with album artwork. You don't have to buy a new model USB device to get this feature.

By the way, when listening to content from a USB device on the PS3, be sure to check out the supplied PS3 graphics accessed by selecting the Saturn-shaped icon, especially the animated HD views of Earth from space.
