Sony and CBS have joined forces to bring the ground-breaking reality series "SURVIVOR" to high definition. Sony's XDCAM HD(TM) Professional Disc(TM) system will be used to shoot the upcoming 17th season of "SURVIVOR" in high definition, with production scheduled to begin this summer and the premiere episode debuting in the fall.

17th Season?
Is that right? Has this total waste of TV bandwidth been running that long? I guess they packed multiple "seasons" in a single year? I can't imagine this thing has been on for 17 years!!! Maybe it will be more interesting in HD, but really...

I couldn't agree more ... although now that it's in HD I'll at least watch the first episode and see what its like.
