I ordered a Hanspree JT01 from ebuyer and wasn't overly happy with the sound, it kept dropping everytime. I decided to change it for a Samsung LE32R87BDX Bordeaux which I love. However I am noticing some very grainy playback through my cable box that didn't seem to happen through the Hanspree. It seems to be fine when I play a DVD and go through my laptop in the VGA input though.
Does anyone know what this might be? Is it a setting on the Samsung or something I'm going to have to reluctantly put up with?
Samsung's sales pitch video setting is called DNie - turn that garbage off for everything and all inputs! Use the cinema or theater settings or ones that sound like that - they are at least in the ballpark of correct video.
But you say grainy... see if you have a DNR, digital noise reduction, feature - turn it on.
Ok i'll look in to this Richard, I did a good bit of googling last night to see if it was something to do with the settings and managed to tweak it to look a little better - mainly by reducing the sharpness. I'll see if I can find something about DNR and turn it on where necessary. I'll let you know how I get on this evening.
