Optoma HD81- 1080P DLP

Post by Richard »

Thanks for additional sales link!
It "is" tempting, but I'm gonna hold off and spring for the Optoma HD81 coming this June...
Make sure the projector accepts 1080P without processing it.

Richard...if you read the link below, it says it does both...If this is true, I am buying it for sure.

Here is a quote from the article........."The Optoma HD81 home theater projector is a true 1080p (1920 x 1080) projector (both native input or via upconversion) that features Texas Instruments

Ya, I know what it says but there have been so many problems with what we are told and what we end up getting with price inferring nothing in that equation.

I will ask Rodolfo if he has any further input or knowledge on the 1080P capability...

Richard,

I am glad you are enjoying the report.

1080p acceptance on the Optoma 81 was confirmed 3 times by their project manager to me, the 3 times I went to witness their quality demo, definitely a hands down winner on 1-chip 1080p DLP at the price range.

On the personal tone I am considering this projector for myself instead of the Ruby due to the enormous light output and the quality of that huge image, the problem is that is not out yet, but is worth the waiting rather than jumping on the Ruby, one big plus is that they use the Gennum video processor.

I promised Optoma an article about the subject, I just need the time.

Regarding products accepting 1080p they are all underlined across the report, grouping them in a separate section would have made this already large report more difficult to handle, not to mention writing it.

I am planning to issue an article on the series of: Why 1080p? that would cover exactly that.

Best Regards,

Rodolfo La Maestra

Curious how an MSRP of $10K ends up at $6K...

When are they shipping? Are you gonna get it calibrated?
