Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas - HD DVD

A wacky journalist and his best buddy lawyer friend set out for LasVegas in 1971 for a get away of recreational drugs centering around the psychedelic variety. For 2 hours you are put inside the mind of the journalist as his hallucinations are presented on screen.

This movie deserves an Oscar. I can think of no movie before that does as good of a job presenting the visual effects of psychedelic stimuli. The acting and directing are superb with Johnny Depp and Benicio Del Toro delivering knock out drug crazed performances of users looking for fun or being terrorized by their own consumption.

All in all this movie has the spirit of the old Cheech and Chong drug movies of the 80s with far less standup comedy and far more in touch with reality. The entertainment here is watching both of these guys being stoned and the drug induced experiences that creates for them and how they deal with it.

Well it is not the 70s or the 80s, Cheech and Chong drug movies and the be stoned at all times culture is dead. This movie would have been a cult favorite at that time with audiences laughing hysterically but in today
