Rosewood - DVD

Post by hidefbob »

"Rosewood" is a movie that I have been trying to find to rent for a few years. It came out in 1997. I finally got a copy through Rogers Video Direct that mails movies directly to your home with a post paid return envelope. They have a library of over 33,000 DVD's (all widescreen), so it is a great source of hard to find movies. Best of all there are no late fees ... keep it as long as you need. I know there are similar video services in the United States.

"Rosewood" is based on a sad event in American history. It is January 1, 1923 in Rosewood, a largely black town built on family, faith and hard work, where hopes for the new year abruptly end. What follows over the next few days and nights is tragic to say the least!

Stars Jon Voigt, Ving Rhames and Don Cheadle

Although not very pleasant watch, it is a well-made film that tells a gripping, important story. Powerful stuff.
