Tim Burton applies his style to this remake. While the critics claimed it was Tim Burton dark we found quite the opposite; This was upbeat. Johnny Dep excels with this portrayal of Willy Wonka as a child who seems to have never grown up adding a weird but involving twist to the story. All in all this movie follows the book to a large degree with some slight changes that added to the story.
Naturally, like any other Tim Burton film, the images and sound are a delight to the senses!
Highly recommended!
