Time Warner No Longer Supporting HD VCR

Post by neilcampbell »

Time Warner, Orange County, CA has eliminated the "vcr brand" from the menu of settings for it's SA 3250 HD cable box. This makes it impossible to schedule recording of HD programs on a HD VCR. Additionally, although HD NBC and Showtime are recordable in real time, HBO is no longer recordable. (I didn't try other HD stations.) Time Warner Customer Support, after saying there is no such thing as a HD VCR, said that people with analog VCRs and HD TVs were confused, so they eliminated the service. Anyone else with this problem? Anyone get Time Warner to reverse their policy?

I wish you the best in having the feature reinstated but if you can't there is a solution...
