One of my favorite films of all time. You really have to watch it twice to figure out everything clearly.
Robert Rodriguez quit the Director's Guild over this movie because he demanded that Frank Miller be given co-directing credit. Apparently the guild only allows a single directing credit.
Quentin Tarantino 'guest directed' the scene with Jackie Boy in the car on the way to the tar pits. Rodriguez wanted to show Quentin what could be done with this type of film.
Robert Rodriguez said that he didn't want to make Robert Rodriguez's Sin City - he wanted to make Frank Miller's Sin City. And he nailed it.
VERY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED - with a warning for cartoon like gore and violence.
