Denon: DVD1910 DVI DVD Player
Haven't been around for a while. I traded my Bravo D1 for a Denon 1910. I have a Samsung DLP TV. The Denon is stretching my picture, on 4:3 or wide screen movies. The only setting on the Denon is 4:3, 4:3 pan, or wide, whereas on the Bravo you could pick to letterbox 4:3. I have it set to wide. This is on the DVI output. I'm not sure what is causing this. Also is HDCP allowing a true 720p picture to go to my TV?

The first step is determining the native scan rate(s) of your display. The next is confirming that your DVI input is HDCP compliant by checking the specifications in your owners manual for HDCP in reference to your DVI input (HDMI is HDCP by design). The final step is determining if your display will tell you what the incoming scan rate is so you can confirm that the HDCP protocol is satisfied which will allow the source to output an HD scan rate such as 720P or 1080I or check your owners manual for the source to find various ways to detect what the output scan rate is if your display does not provide this feature.
It does not provide 4:3 or 16:9 screens in the setup menu? Are you referring to a formating option rather than setup? The only setting on the Denon is 4:3, 4:3 pan, or wide,
The Zenith DVB318 did not offer much for 4:3 content and formatting either...
