LG: LST3410 OTA Receiver - problem with TV Guide feature

Post by gsmiley »

I just purchased the LST3410. It took many hours to download the TV Guide Channel lineup and then customize the orderof channels in the guide. Does anyone know how long the lineup will remain stored if there is a power outage of several hours or days. Thanks for your input. Guy

Doesn't the owner's manual tell you?

I'm sure it stores it on disk and refreshes it with a (much shorter) nightly or weekly phone call.

I know from experience that the Guide will not be lost in a few minutes, but parts of it go missing after maybe 1/2 hour. Whether these are actually deleted, or just new material not downloaded, I'm not certain. As you know, the unit must be turned off, but plugged in, in order to download the Guide. There seem to be many problems with the Guide infomation being corrupted or incorrect, and nobody. including LG Customer Service, seems to know much about this Gemstar proprietary system, including which stations send out the information. Take a good look at the LST-3418 Review thread under HD Recorders at http://www.avsforum.com/ and search Gemstar or PSIP for more confusing information.
