Against the Ropes

Based on the true story of Jackie Kallen who grew up in the boxing world and made her early career as an assistant to the men who run it to stay in the biz and near the her greatest love, the boxing ring. Frustrated with her position and the constant sexist jeers from the big wigs in the business she decides through circumstance to purchase the contract of a fighter for $1.00 launching her as an owner/promoter.

While cliched at times I found the movie kept me interested and emotionally involved in the outcome.
