You simply turn the receiver off with the remote. Wait for 15 minutes or so, and the the download happens, if it is there to be taken. The downloads come via the satellite, there is no need to hook anything up to you PC. You can not force a download. You must also set your receiver up first. Go into the menu on your remote, press 6,1,2. Then check "Download without my permission." Save it and you're set. I just took 2.80 by the way. I haven't had time to what it might have done though.
