This is a digital satellite subscription service requiring an 8-foot motorized C-band dish. About 10 HD channels and 150 CD-quality SD channels are available.

size of dish

The size of the dish depends on your location. I have always had at least a 12 footer, especially in the early days when LNBs were not that hot.

This is especially important if you are not in the center of the footprint, like my home in northwest WA or where I am now with a 12 foot H to H and an inefficient 18 footer in the village of Ajijic, on the shores of Lake Chapala in the State of Jalisco in central Mexico

I've had C band since 1981, DirecTV since 1996 and Star Choice since 2001. I use C band and Star Choice for my perhaps 15 viewable HDTV signals here in Mexico.

I say perhaps since I only upgraded to HDTV yesterday
