Richard,
You probably have not seen the stones cd's in the SACD section of you audio store. These Stones SACD's are hybrid cd's and they seem to keep them in the normal cd section. The CD's do not even mention SACD anywhere on them. Here in Seattle I was at a Tower Record store and asked where the Stones SACDs were and they pointed to all the other "normal" cd's. Since I did bring up the point of them not showing SACD they have sinced moved a one of each to the SACD section. But it was just terrible labeling on Adko (forget the exact name) part for not putting SACD on the label of all of these new stones cd's out on SACD.

The Stones sacd's are not labeled as such because the record company feels that any sacd reference might confuse the public and deter sales because people might not be sure if it will play in ther cd player. I guess the label felt this would be easier the explaing "hybrid" to he public. Might be hard for sacd to catch on if all the labels used this stealth method of promoting the new technology. Online stores like Amazon also are reluctant to use the term sacd, opting instead for "remastered."

Without that kind of info it might be hard to find in the store since most have a seperate section for HD audio. I can understand not advertising "hybrid" or "SACD" on the jacket. Removing all ID without opening the package is pretty dumb - how do you know if it is really SACD. AS an SACD fan you would have to do research to get this insider information to know what "package" to buy.Might be hard for sacd to catch

Bought the Rolling Stones - Let It Bleed
We have a problem Houston!
As pointed out there is zip, nothin, nadda indication that this is an SACD. You will only find it in the CD section. So how do you know? There will be a rectanglular ABKO sticker on the outside package talking about how the disc is remastered. Once you open it you will find the SACD logo and DSD label on the disc. I bought it at Media Play and learned some other stuff. They catalog everything that is not just CD as "newtech" for new technology with it's own section in the store. We looked up the Rolling Stones title in the system and it comes up with no indication in their own database that it is an SACD hybrid.
