Cinematographers to Advise on High Tech
P.J. Huffstutter
The American Society of Cinematographers in Los Angeles said it has formed a committee to recommend technical guidelines for high-tech moviemaking.
The ASC Technology Committee plans to review digital cameras, post-production equipment, projectors and other theatrical gear and outline their technical benefits and shortcomings for the companies that make the gear and the cinematographers who use it.
"Our goal is to create a dialogue which results in recommendations for standards and practices that serve the art form and the public," said ASC Technology Committee Chairman Curtis Clark.
