Finally the SMPTE has come up with a solution to lip sync problems. The solution appears to be workable throughout the entire TV production and distribution chain and is of low enough cost that it can be implemented in home equipment with very little additional cost. Now it appears that all that needs to happen is for the professional and consumer manufacturers to adopt the standard and incorporate it in their equipment.
