Perhaps, the initial "mistake" might well have been buying that new Battery & Charger!!! .... With the "pre" Black-Friday Promotions going on like Mad, an entirely-new Laptop!! { we SHALL delicate "skip" the debate altogether re: "..DELL.."}

- - with it's associated (1) year "bumper-to-Bumper" warranty comes in very handy for "issues" exactly such as yours!!

Could be entirely & absolutely "wrong" BUT, since YOU have already done your homework, eliminating the Hardware plus that "TIP" sounds like it "due" for a Trip to "DELL Service" to me?
