The Electronista Web site states that Samsung's 55-inch OLED TV could even be manufactured by LG Display. Someone didn't bother to do their homework.

I agree 100% with you Pete, it is disturbing to witness the type of information that is spread by casual Internet bloggers that copy each other and add one line to call the whole thing their piece, and actually making that piece worst than how it started.

This is a clear demonstration of how reliable information can be corrupted when is reused unprofessionally.

The blogger was probably wondering what to add to the source information that was already available about OLED since CES, he probably did not even view either panel at the show, so what valuable statement to add?

"The enemy is doing the tanks of the other's army".

Without even checking, or knowing what to check, that the technologies are different, and as you said, the two companies are not exactly buddies after the passive/active mess.

I just drafted an article about that exact issue and how that affected CES's real press/analyst environment.
