Count me as a customer

Post by stevekaden »

Even as the nearest Blockbuster is 2 miles of LA busy from my house, I am still a fairly regular customer - and I have FiOS and Roku. I don't want to buy everything, but I want top of the line video, audio, and commentaries so I am glued to the BluRay rack and trying to stream junk. I am usually not alone in the store - though it is certainly not the 'good old days' of long lines. Maybe this will not last forever an full BR quality will be streamable but not yet.

If DISH actually vended DISH products from the store I think it would be a good thing for them. I had DISH for years and most of their dealer/installers are fly-by-nights, so I think it would give them a solid presense and feel of confidence to have a face and a presentation.

I have always gone to Blockbuster and my new 3D oppo blueray player has Blockbuster as an app and I can't wait to try downloading movies to see what the quality is like vs an actual disc. I bought a 3D plasma in November 2010 and had it calibrated by an isf tech with over 15 ys exp. He is the same tech that calibrated my crt 10 yrs ago. The tv is awsome and the blueray player is very good as well so the test will be interesting. I have fios as well and I got the 25mgb up and 25mgb down package and am hooking up the player with cat5 cable and am using monster cable HDMI high speed with 18 gig speed. Can't wait to set up the account to download and then rent the disc and compare the internet vs the disc for overall quality difference. I will post the results when I do. A very good movie to use will be the Sorcerers apprentice because it has fantastic contrast and flawless saturation levels. The chapter in Chinatown is mindboggling.
