Philips Blu-ray BDP3008 - 1080p 24fps problem

Post by bakeworks »

Hi, I pwn a Toshiba LCD model 40CV600e. My blu ray player is Philips BDP3008 connected through HDMI. Whenever I use 1080p 24fps, there's video skipping for the first 3-5 seconds of the video. Initially I thought there was a problem with the TV sync system. But then I tried it with another TV, also same problem. It works fine if I just use 1080p.

Please help

It sounds like the player is trying to obtain frame lock which does not make any sense if it is really simply dumping the native 24fps from the disc. It could be that this player does not actually do that for the 24fps setting, that would be bad, and is processing a 24fps response from a scaled 1080p version of the source inside the player.

BTW, research is pointing to this being an overseas player for the Malaysia market and it does not show up in google shopping.
