The LG 42LH30-UA we recently bought at Best Buy had an annoying "LipSync" Problem. The Audio Signal was not synchronized with the Video Signal.
This issue IS NOT related to Cable Box Brand or Length of HDMI Cables.
The issue IS a FirmWare Problem EASILY corrected by having an LG Service Technician Install the CORRECT VERSION of the FirmWare the TV needs to process the Audio without a DELAY.
Contact LG's Customer Service Hotline: (800) 243 0000. Be prepared to tell the CustSvc Rep the following: Model, Serial No., Service No., Date of Purchase, Seller, along with your personal data for their files.
Open a Case Number. (You say, ... "I'd like to open a Case on this matter and be issued a Case Number, please.)
Once you have opened a Case Number, you will be transferred to an Online Technical Department. The Technical Service Rep will prompt you to Enter the TV's Service Menu and have you read to them the VERSION of the FIRMWARE that is displayed on-screen. Based on this information it will be determined if your TV requires a simple FirmWare Upgrade or an upgraded MODULE Installed. Most require only a Downloaded Update.
