How to move a rear projection TV / HDTV?

Post by bsouthard »

Just moved a 5 year old rear projection TV (Mitsubishi WS55313). I've set the television up at it's new location and it has no power at all. As far as I can tell everything is set up exactly the same as before the move, but when I hit the power button nothing happens. Any suggestions as to what may have caused the problem? The tv was laid down on it's back for the move but was well padded and secured.

For the next guy who reads this... All RP products regardless of technology are designed to be shipped in the up right position by the manufacturer. End users should do the same for a pain free move. The move will be safer if the RP TV is in a fully enclosed area such as a moving truck. If moving with an open bed pickup truck you need to cover the screen with cardboard and wrap it around the body of the RP to prevent the screen from getting sucked out when you are driving.
