Pioneer VXX-84TXSi HDMI cables and 2nd room output
I had this set up with component video cables and was able to get audio output for my wireless head phones through the room 2 output. Then I installed HDMI cables and got a much better 1080i picture but lost the audio output. I have tried room 2, room 2, 3 with no luck even on the digital output. Is this related to copy protection? Is there a setting in the receiver that will allow me to get fixed level audio out?

After MUCH anguish / many 'trials' / different sets of cables / etc., I "gave up" in attempting much the same "isolation."
In my trial & tribulations, the only means to have 'success' WAS to go back to Component / eliminate the HDMI usage . . . . instead, going to (1) each of a Toslink Optical plus a normal Coaxial Digital Audio cable, each to those specific input ports ....
here is Toslink .... http://www.monoprice.com/products/produ ... 1&format=2
Tp "prove this" for myself, whenever I went back / repeated .... using Only that dang 'HDMI' as we are supposed to do, The audio was immediately "lost" for me, as well ?????
By-the-way - - - with some very good quality RBG component cable sets, I did not 'loose" any HD picture quality when compared directly to that w/ HDMI . . . very same channels / same programs during this amateur test!
Of course, NOT going to be the case w/ Blu Ray connection or most new Games Consoles!
Here they are . . . http://www.monoprice.com/products/produ ... 1&format=2
