Mitsubishi DLP 06 - Failed light engine

Hi All,
This is very good help. I purchased a 73" DLP on Jan 2007 and last month I see the picture getting dark and darker after an hour watching tv. I check with someone and they say because of the lamp. I bought the lamp and replaced it $289.00 and it work great! After a month the picture color changing after 30 min watching tv. I got on this forum and see many same issue which called "Solarized Picture" and the cause is the light engine. I called the tv man and he qouted $800 for part and labor. I came back to this forum to look for a reputation service company and here I found this helpfull information that my TV is still in extended warranty. WOW!!! I hit the jack pot.... I called the 1800 number above and there someone answered. I provide information like invoice and tv's serial # and tv model. They provide me a service authorized with Misubitshi. This service man call me next day and ask for a fax of purchasing document then they order the part after that. Within a week they come with a replacement part and install in my tv. The tv now is back to normal and I hope it will goes for a while. Base on the service man that because the exhaused fans were stop spining bacause of dust and heat is built up and cook the light engine. He recoments to clean up the dust behind the tv cover every month then it should ok. I will do that and see if that help. Oh Boy!!! this save me lots of the money since they did not tell me when they first came to diagnostic the problem. Thanks you all for the info you all put here.
