I have been recording movies off of Comcast and Verizon on DVD for years. Obviously, the quality is not as good as if they were Blue Ray. The DVD recorder I use is a Toshiba D-R400.
Are there any Blu Ray recorders which work like the DVD recorders?
Thanks for your time and help with this!

No. At least not in North America. They do exist in Japan and a few other places but the content owners don't want to see them spread.

Japan "HD" DVR Units will NOT "function" in USA Market, .... so, that would be a Waste-of-Time & Money!

Ms. aaneetha
What you asked is an Impossibility in U.S.A. {has been so, too, for a number of years!!}
Take a few minutes to research on the Internet about ....
".. Digital Millenium Copyright Act .." many years ago The Gates were SHUT!
Copying and then burning-to-private DVD Discs in 'HD' has NOT ever been allowed or possible LEGALLY!!
- - - LOTS of illegal ways & assorted Software, of course!
