Sylvania has "negative" picture
I have a Sylvania 37" LCD HDTV model LD370SC8-S. The colors are very distorted. When I hook up a color bar generator the black bar is very light gray. All other colors are similarly distorted. Adjustments of brightness and contrast settings help a little but it is still not usable. The built-in DVD player has the same video problem. Audio is working well. There are 4 boards that are suspects: Timing Control, Backlight Inverter, Power, and Digital. When I disconnect one of the two cables that tie the T-Con to the LCD screen, the left half of the screen goes black. Does anyone have an idea which board can cause a color distortion problem like this? Thanks for any ideas.

Hello telcoguy
Since Christmas is only a few hours away, there has to be a means of both offering a "reply" AND being "Merry!"
"Sylvania" - - as well as most-any very inexpensive TV which has a self-contained DVD Player - - will always "..Leave a LOT to be desired!.."
100% of our Famous Names from the glorious past of this wonderful "made in USA" have long-since been auctioned-off / leased / outright sold to terrible "Global Assemblers" as these Companies went South. The entire Philosophy was to "catch" a few more, unsuspecting Customers .....
In my experiences, you are still trying to milk-a-cow that is even way beyond being suitable for Dog Food ... or, in another way, "..It Ain't Ever Going To Happen!" You would have been far better satisfied w/ one of the Top Tier Plasmas!
Start-all-over! Hopefully, you "posted" quickly-enough to return same within the allotted few days? {p.s. = even the stalwart "SONY" House is soon-to-join the same fate, according to many Tech Tales.}

Re: Sylvania has "negative" picture
I know that my TV is not the same Sylvania of the past. It is a shame to have Funai selling the grand old name. I'd still like to try to fix it by replacing the most likely bad board. I think it is the Timing Control or the Backlight Inverter. Can someone look at my pictures posted above and give me an opinion.
Thanks
Thanks

This is may for the LCD crystals. I use laptop and My screen gets thrust in screen with my hand unfortunately. After that, it gets problem in video by gray color in several place. So, instead of trying yourself go the the technician and have their help.
