Too Many Spams

Ya know, I've been here since the very beginning, long before HDTV Magazine came into fruition. I helped our esteemed founder stay alive when he was flat broke and needed help. I did that by sending in donations. Today, over 10 years later, I see that most of what comes up here is spam messages selling this, that, and even porn. I guess I've had enough of it. I'm going to stop coming here at all, simply because there is little of value to keep me from coming. It's kind of a shame. In the beginning there was passion, now, not so much.......

Hi Bobby,

I thought I had replied to your post, but apparently not ... so here goes again:

We are well aware of the spam problems here. We actually had two fairly major intrusions in the past month which have taken considerable time to "clean up". The main reason for all of this is that our forum software was 7 years old. And since we have done so much customization to the core software, it was very hard for us to upgrade cleanly.

Ready for the good news???

As of THIS WEEKEND, we are now running the latest and greatest version of our forum software!!! I'm still doing some "clean-up" after the upgrade, but it may take a few days to catch everything.

But hopefully our spam problems will lessen, if not completely go away.

And I hope you stick around ...
