Depends on the details, but sounds like a good thing...

Depends...

Like the others said, it depends on the details. For me, the deal breaker is the Tivo.
In addition, you will have free use of a digital TV recording service (similar to TiVo) that
If it's not a Tivo, I don't want it, even if it is free. I have tried to use the DirecTV version of their HD DVR and it is a piece of crap.

The other "minor details" are the price, quality and reliability. Right now I don't pay over $100 for HD DirecTV plus Vonage. Since I get my cable modem paid for by work, a potentially slower version would be of no interest.

I think the $132 is a little heavy, and that it should not break the $100 mark.

But, having the feature to be able to record anything and watch it when you like, do not really grab people's attention - it has to be that much better for them not to watch or want to watch anything else but the new service.

Surely Pay TV will start coming down in price, until they only rely on advertising to pay their way?

I personally voted no, just to much when there are ways to get VOIP for next to free, and cable for really cheap. Plus internet for pretty cheap too.

You do realize you're responding to a 5 year old thread, right?

It could be right for me in which case I would be willing to buy it; but I would really need to know the composition of the programming, especially the HD material.
