HDTV Expert - Memo to 3D TV manufacturers: First, you build the highway. Then, you build the cars!

A recent 3D status report from the Consumer Electronics Association shows there is still plenty of confusion about 3D. And where’s the content?

"déjà vu all over again;" very true, but the lack of programing in the beginning did not prevent HDTV from becoming the dominant entertainment venue that it is today. I just read that 3d is forcasted to become to become dominant by 2013( http://www.displaybank.com/eng/info/sread.php?id=5754 )--that's a lot faster than HDTV.

It is all smoke and mirrors for the next 2-5 years. I agree, build the 'highway' first, then the 'cars' to work around it ... HUMM does sound like dvd/br ... no one standard.

I think cars were available for a good 50 years before the interstate highway system was built.

I am sure that cars followed the horses for quite a while and rolled on the same wheels, on the same roads.

And...3D will look, feel, and act first like the horse before it, 2D...and then as the media catches up, possibly put the horse back in the barn.
