Samsung HLT5687SAX - I have a one inch shadow on left of screen

Hello, I'm in Orlando. I purchased this Samsung HLT5687SAX in 11/2007 from Amazon. I love this DLP but now since Saturday there's a one inch vertical shadow on the left edge of the screen. I can see the picture behind this shadow but it is like 25% as bright as the rest of the screen. Any ideas on what I can do to resolve? I was thinking about having the tv calibrated professionally in the next couple of weeks but may not be able to afford to now unless that might fix the issue.

This is not a calibration problem. Sorry, but you have lost the light tunnel on the optical engine and it's time for service!
