Hate to say this, but after my purchase last fall of an Integra 9.8 (pre/pro), I would not buy another Onkyo/Integra product.

I'm 95% happy with my Integra 9.8; but it's no thanks to Onkyo/Integra. If it were not for the two firmware updates I've obtained from AVS members, I would be very unhappy with the Integra. I had to find another source; because Integra was not providing updates to owners as they "fixed" firmware during the model year. The only available option was to box it up and mail it at my own expense several hundred miles to a depot. Luckily, there was an AVS member with a contact at Onkyo.

I'm not 100% happy with the "9.8" because they have a faulty implementation of the Reon (video processor). If used, it gives a "color shift" because it outputs HD resolutions with the SD 601 Color Space. The TV receives the HD resolution and automatically uses the HD 709 color space matrix for decoding. End result is a minor "under saturated" red and a more significant "under saturated" green that's off by around 20%. They have said that they will not release a "fix" for this issue. Luckily, I have a properly functioning Reon in my XA2 for DVD's and don't watch much TV that isn't HD.

Onkyo/Integra needs to get with the program and develop a process for issuing firmware updates like the other main product lines (e.g., I just received a disc in the mail for my Toshiba XA2 that has been out of production for something between 6 and 12 months; and get almost monthly updates for my PS3 via it's internet connection).
