Gosh, two days in a row with announcements that leave more questions than answers. Or did I miss something? What is this TurboHD business? Yet another thing to have to subscribe to in order to get all of the HD channels?

And they make fun of the cable guys pricing.......

TurboHD is their new package which consists of all/only HD programming. So for those that no longer watch any SD (like me) ... it's perfect.

Thanks for clearing that up. I just didn't think it was very clear in their release.

The other questions were in regard to the Kodak announcement a day or so ago. IT seemed very sketchy about how you would accomplish all the things they claim.

No worries.

Often times the marketing and PR types can get in the way of truly good products and services, which I believe to be the case here. To further clarify: They are the first to offer an HD-only set of tiers. They are packaging these tiers with various options for HD receivers/DVRs and local programming. It makes it look more complicated than it should be.

Regarding the Kodak announcement, I'll have to read through that one more thoroughly and respond. I literally look at 10's, sometimes 100's of press releases per day ... it's hard to determine which one's are actually newsworthy vs over-hyped puffery.

With two receivers and three TVs running, one of which is out in my shop on the old receiver I'll probably have SD and HD for a long time. Unless they've changed you only get one HD receiver with one HD and one SD output unless you count component and HDMI as two. Depending on the package It appears (to me) these new channels will be included. The packages listed are less expensive ones that are only HD. Other than the ESPN and Vs channels I'd be happy not to have/pay for the other sports channels. However for the package I have they are included. As to the local networks I have several antennas close to 100 feet and pull in stations from close to a 100 miles which is far more than I can get from any of the satellite providers, plus all the sub channels.
