This is great. When I had cband sat I really enjoyed pbs hdtv. Since moving and going with Dish I have learned neither Dish nor Directv carry hdtv pbs feeds. Very disappointed. I wrote to PBS why this is the case as I had heard they had blocked their hdtv signal from E and D. They informed me that they would love to be on bth services but are being told neither has room for their HDTV signal now or in the near future. Does anyone out there know of any plans for either sat company to start carrying hdtv PBS?

Yup, you need an antenna of some kind. Here in So. Mn. I get the PBS feed from Twin Cities Public Television on 2-02.(72 miles away - signal strength of 100) And we are surrounded by PBS stations that are available with a rotor. Although the Iowa Public TV stations do not at the moment carry the PBS HD feed.

Those of us who get our PBS HD from the dedicated "PBS HD Channel" may be in for a shock this evening - I checked the schedules of FIFTY local PBS stations (stretching nationwide), and of the 34 that feature that channel, only FIVE have NewsHour in their listings for this week (I was not among the lucky).
