Plot ... A love story set in the 1920s about a young English couple--a conservative doctor and a restless society girl--who marry hastily and relocate to Hong Kong. There they betray each other easily, and find an unexpected chance at redemption and happiness while on a deadly journey into the heart of ancient China.
Cast ... Edward Norton, Naomi Watts, Liev Schreiber, Sally Hawkins, Toby Jones, Diana Rigg
Comments ... I really enjoyed this old fashioned melodrama. I thought Naomi Watts shone in her role. Beautiful scenery and photography (needs to be seen in HDTV). Highly recommended.

A memorable movie indeed with a real slice of life as it's centerpiece; the baggage we bring into our relationships and the mis-perceptions they bring. Both are disillusioned by a relationship and marriage that never developed. Watching the journey of them finally getting over it and finding each other was absolutely touching.
As noted some great scenery in this film so it was very disappointing this was not released as an HD title...
