Considering that Cablevision and VOOM are owned by the same people (the Dolans) one might ask what the hell took so long? The fact that it did take so long speaks volumes about the challenge cable has for finding bandwidth for HD. The good news is that there is considerable investment now going on in cable to vacate the analog side of their business even to the extent of subsidizing decoder boxes for the digital side. Cable is no less anxious to get out of analog than are the the broadcasters.
