This antenna is can be used for indoor applications as well. It is considered a close range product. As always, if you can, install a Channel Master 4228 or equivalent for the best results if you are over 10 miles from the transmitter.

Doesn't work hardly at all for VHF channels. I bought one to reduce multipath and it just will not pick up the channels 8 & 9 used in this area for PBS & CBS stations.

ours is a Channel Master #3016, DOES do both & is available from a number of web stores quite cheaply.

There used to be a "generic" version via Radio Shack,as well.

This has worked well for about a year- outside only!
Gets ( 24 ) HDTV signals for us -- only ONE inside attic, however! eli whitney

The channel master 4228 will pick up down to VHF channel 10 for sure but you have to make sure the grids are touching each other. Not sure if it would get 8 or 9.

I posted this to let others know that the squareshooters just do not work that well for VHF signals. I have a very large Channel Master antenna. I got the SS just to try and reduce the multipath in the area on the VHF antenna.

Thanks for doing that. If you would have asked though the answer would not have been this antenna because it is low gain which means less rejection of multipath, not more. As gain increases so does rejection. The suggestion from Eli would have been worth trying out. Being close along with severe multipath can be difficult to resolve sometimes...

I have a Channel Master 3679 which has a fairly tight pattern of reception. It still has not cured the problem w/ the Dish net VIP622 which is most likely a S/W problem. It has been reported by many other owners of the same unit that the problems started w/ 1 of the updates to this unit. I have 3 other ATSC OTA receivers and they don't have the same sensitivity to the multi-path. Dish is trying to figure out what is wrong w/ the upadate to fix the problem.

Have you tried an attenuator to reduce the signal strength to the VIP622? Might be worth a shot.
