No Video on rear proj HDTV

Post by garricus »

I have a Mitsubishi 62" Rear proj tv. Model WD-62525. When powered up I get audio but the sreen displays a black and white rectangles in a checkerboard pattern. (Lamp is ok) They are small in size. I can hear the audio ok. Changing input has the same result. The remote works ok, but of course the menus do not appear on the screen. Does anyone have a clue as to what component needs to be changed? Thanks in advance.

As I recall that is the formatter CBA in the main chassis. Some shops will replace the board and others won't touch it with a ten foot pole and replace the whole chassis.

Serviceability on this one is poor for the chassis and either method takes time. I have replaced a board twice and getting to them is difficult...

I'll start crying now : I have had some experience building computers, is this something that I can do or does it take special tools or knowlege?

When you say service is poor, do you mean the shops won't touch it because of the time involved or is it mechanically tough to get to all the parts?

Last question, is there a manual that explains the steps?

Thanks again... (I am now crying in my beer )[/code]

Yes, they replace the chassis because it is difficult to replace the CBA.

At this point I can't help you much as this is not a DIY forum. If you want to have it done for you check out the NESDA link or find your local factory authorized service center.

Only you know what your skills are and no, there is no manual telling you how to tear the chassis down. If this is DIY I suggest googling for those sites.
