JVC HD-61FN97 61" 1080p HD-ILA HDTV

We've talked about the JVC HD-ILA (Buy Now)rear projection HDTVs for a long time. In fact way back in Episode 11, on June 9 of 2005, we picked a 720p JVC as our favorite in a shootout between JVC, Mitsubishi and Samsung. Those were the days. TV technology has come a long way since then, but JVC is still a very solid performer, and one of our favorites. In fact, Ara has mentioned that his brother has a couple of them. We finally got one in our HT Guys testing facility - also know as our family rooms - to test it out for ourselves. But would it live up to our expectations?

I have had a 61FN97 since September of last year and it is truly a great TV, Blu-Ray looks fantastic, I have the complaint as the review about the remote and the input switching but my black levels are not that black, may i need to reset up my TV, could the review recommend any settings?

They tell you about all the inputs, but never test the tuner(s) just as many other 'test' sites fail to do.

The most basic function of a TV (non monitor) would be to test the tuner.
