Poor Quality Home videos on Sony Blu-ray Player

When playing a home video (wide screen format) DVD made on a Sony DCR-PC330 camcorder to a 73 inch Mitsubishi WD-73827 TV via Sony's Blu-ray BDP-S1, the picture quality is unacceptable. The same video played from a standard Sony DVD player, DVP-N5775V, onto the TV is fine. (Not HDTV quality, of course, but fine.) Are others having this problem? Is there a fix?
(The picture quality of blu-ray DVDs is excellent.)

Have the same problem but don't know the model number. On mine it is strobing frames on the Oppo DVD player but is OK via a Panasonic DVR/DVD.
